Hanna-Barbera (c.1960s) -
Hanna-Barbera Studios
In many ways the Pixie and Dixie shorts resemble Hanna-Barbera's earlier creation, Tom and Jerry. However without Tom and Jerry's more lavish budget for full animation, the Jinks team had to rely on funny dialogue and voices to carry the cartoon's humor. This fun master set-up features both of our protagonists caught in a moment of surprise.
The aperture measures 7" x 9" while the matte measures 10" x 13".

Matte has aged and exhibits marked wear. There are specks of line wear throughout both characters, notably in the eyes whiskers, and ears. As visible in the web image, there is a small 0.125" x 0.125" area of paint separation to the right of Pixie's mouth with slight lifting. There is a very small 0.06" x 0.06" speck of separation with slight lifting in the right side of Pixie's bow and miniscule specks of paint loss at the top of his left ear. As slightly visible in the web image are two areas of unknown residue; 0.75" in length located 2" to the left of Dixie's head and slight specks near the matte's lower aperture edge and below the character Pixie.
